State Lights

State Lights

Bonded by their interest in 80s music and the common desire to write giant stadium-sized songs, State Lights formed three years ago at BIMM college in Dublin. Singer Shobsy, guitarist Joe Regan, drummer Paul Ridgeway and bassist Noel Perry earned remarkable success with their single "Peace Will Come," which was supported by 2fm (Ireland's National Radio Station), featured as the Homegrown Hero and Artist of the week on Today FM and tallied substantial airplay and support from KROQ Los Angeles, Radio X (UK) and a host of other International radio stations.

"Peace Will Come" laid the foundation for another track mixed by Mark Needham (The Killers, Imagine Dragons) titled "Freedom." Their latest single, which has influences ranging from Kygo to Coldplay, encourages people to break free from oppressive and toxic relationships and coming to terms with ones sexuality; Shobsy states "The song is about choosing to set yourself free. Stop waiting around for someone else to do it for you."
