Wide Eyed Boy

Wide Eyed Boy

The city of Liverpool has birthed some of the most unique and successful bands to date. The laundry list of talent includes none other than The Beatles, Echo & the Bunnymen, A Flock of Seagulls, OMD, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Dead or Alive and The La's to name a select few. Another name that can soon be added to the list is Wide Eyed Boy. Two parts British, one part German and one part Australia, the quartet is a force to be reckoned with.

Oliver Nagy (vocals), Jonny Ball (guitar), Kobi Pham (guitar) and Tom Taylor (drums) met at McCartney's LIPA, an institution that is carving itself out as a hotbed of new talent, most recently with Frances and Dan Croll. They bonded over their shared love of music, namely Michael Jackson, David Bowie and Liverpool greats The Wombats, The Futons and Circa Waves.

They recruited fellow Liverpool resident Rich Turvey (Blossoms, Cabbage, Darlia) to produce their eponymously titled EP.
