He will maintain his responsibilities leading WMUK alongside his new global role.

Steve Cooper said, “With WMG breaking more superstars and leading the industry's transition to streaming, this is the perfect time to appoint a proven leader to turbocharge the success of our Recorded Music division. Max's wide-ranging achievements make him the natural choice. Since taking over the helm of Warner Music UK, he has continued to build his reputation for identifying and developing world-class artistic and executive talent. At the same time, he's transformed our UK operation, with an inspired vision of a truly progressive music company in the 21st century. He's the consummate music man, always exploring what we can do differently to benefit our artists, their fans, our people and our partners. I’m looking forward to working with Max as he leads our outstanding Recorded Music management team."

Max Lousada said, “I came to Warner because it’s always been such a fantastic melting pot of independent spirits uniting to champion artists that change culture and make music that matters. Fourteen years later, that ethos is as strong as ever, so I’m delighted to have the opportunity to build on those foundations with my extremely gifted partners around the world. Together, we’ll continue to create an environment where talent has the support and the freedom to flourish, where we empower our artists and our people to be true pioneers, and where we inspire audiences to be as excited about music as we are. I would like to thank Len and Steve for their tremendous support.”

In his three years as CEO of WMUK, Lousada and his team have consistently grown market share, broken chart records, and released music that has achieved global success. Lousada has also expanded WMUK’s repertoire centers to serve a more diverse range of artists, playing a key role in the integration of Parlophone into WMUK, as well as reviving the East West Records imprint and launching dance music imprints within each of the UK’s front line labels. Shayna Leigh originally found music through the dramatic arts, where she first discovered singing and found it to be the most instinctual form of expression she'd ever experienced. Influenced not only by contemporary hitmakers but also ageless greats like The Beatles, Carole King and Laura Nyro, she spent years writing, recording and performing, searching for the sound that best defined her own artistry. On July 28, 2015, Shayna released her debut album Drive on S-Curve Records/UMG. The album includes ten tracks produced and co-written by multi-Platinum and multi-Grammy Award-winning record producer Michael Mangini (Joss Stone, Diane Birch) and Emmy Award-winning, multi-Platinum songwriter and producer Peter Zizzo (Avril Lavigne, Vanessa Carlton). Shayna recently released her new single “Candle,” (listen HERE) taken from her upcoming EP and just wrapped up a supporting slot for Lee DeWyze (“American Idol”) on tour. Siblings Sarah and Hamish McIntosh are Lovestarrs. Described sonically as the British love child of George Michael and Katy Perry, Lovestarrs’ energetic pop promises to boost your mood and make you dance. Hamish learned guitar at age eight, followed by bass two years later. After years of playing the violin and eventually drums, Sarah discovered her Grandmother’s 1980s Yamaha keyboard ready to be thrown out from her attic, instantly fell in love with the retro sounds and drum loops and immediately began writing songs with it. Adding third bandmate George Hinton, the trio was signed to EMI in 2011 under the name The Good Natured. They headlined the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury and had almost completed their debut album when EMI was sold and the group dropped. Disillusioned, George opted out, but the McIntosh siblings were determined to succeed. Adopting the name Lovestarrs, the duo released an EP that received over 100,000 streams on SoundCloud, attracting the attention of indie label DEFDISCO. Having lost their previous masters to EMI, Lovestarrs opted to crowd-fund their new release via a Kickstarter campaign, allowing them to maintain ownership and control of their music. Their eagerly anticipated debut album Planet Lovestarr was released March 17, 2017 via DEFDISCO/WMG. Inspired by a note they read on a London Underground message board which said ‘all terrorists are politely reminded that this is London. Whatever you do we will drink tea and jolly well carry on,’ Lovestarrs put together a video, which was created before the attacks at Westminster, as a symbol of strength for their beautiful city that they call home. Watch the “London Town” video HERE and contact Cherry Stone at stonedcherrymgmt@gmail.com as the duo are available for publishing, label, booking agent (non-UK), synch and brand opportunities.
