Bollywood legend Madhuri Dixit, is poised to release her first-ever English language EP, The Film Star. It will feature the debut single, “Tu Hai Mera,” (which means “You Are Mine” in Hindi). “Tu Hai Mera” is a fusion of classical Indian folk music with western pop lyrics and beats, bringing together the East and the West, and creating an iconic sound and vibe.

For fans of Hindi cinema, Madhuri Dixit needs no introduction. Hailed as Bollywood royalty, she is one of India’s most successful global entertainers. As an actor, dancer, singer, fashionista and philanthropist, Madhuri Dixit has had an incredibly successful and inspiring career thus far, encompassing over 70 films, many seasons of television, and hundreds of live shows worldwide.

The idea to create a multilingual soundtrack from one of India’s most iconic performers and entertainers was conceived early last year at a meeting in Beverly Hills, CA between Madhuri Dixit, Ram Nene (partner of Madhuri Dixit) and Sat Bisla, President & Founder of A&R Worldwide.

A&R Worldwide helped oversee the A&R’ing of the project and worked closely with Madhuri Dixit and Ram Nene in creating teams of creative songwriters/producers of East Indian descent including Raja Kumari (who has collaborated with Gwen Stefani, Fall Out Boy, Iggy Azalea, Fifth Harmony) and Narinder Singh (Paleface, Conscious Youths).

Madhuri Dixit stated, “It was a pleasure to work with a team of talented individuals who understood and appreciated the beauty of the East and West. We feel we were able to create something that really speaks to your soul. Our hope is that the audience will appreciate all the hard work our team has put into the project and that it moves them as much as it has affected us.”

Bisla stated, “It’s an honor and privilege to A&R this amazing project with Madhuri Dixit and Ram Nene to build a bridge between East and West in the most authentic musical way possible with one of Bollywood’s most iconic entertainers. ‘Tu Hai Mera’ is the icing on the cake of what is sure to be an inspiring and captivating musical release to tens of millions of Madhuri fans worldwide, as well as helping introduce her debut to millions of new listeners around the world.”

Praised by critics for her acting and dancing skills, she has received numerous awards including six Filmfare Awards, and the Padmashree, India’s fourth highest civilian award. At the same time she is adored on social media with over 40 million fans and one of the highest engagement rates worldwide. Her poetic disposition and grace is regarded as a standard for beauty in an artist.

More recently, it was confirmed that ABC Television is developing an American comedy series based on the life of Madhuri Dixit which is executive produced by Madhuri Dixit and Priyanka Chopra and written by Sri Rao. Mark Gordon Productions, famous for CSI, Greys Anatomy and Quantico, is co-producing the show along with ABC. In addition, Madhuri Dixit is starring in two upcoming films and producing a film in India.

Known as Bollywood’s Dhak Dhak (heartthrob) girl, she has been featured as a judge for four seasons on the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (BBC’s Indian version of the classic Dancing with the Stars). She has also created her own dance company and an e-learning portal called Dance with Madhuri on iOS, Android and the web, and had over 33.5 million views and 21 million minutes viewed.

Madhuri has a large social media presence with 40+ million social media followers, including Facebook (26 million), Instagram (6.1 million), Twitter (4.4 million) and YouTube (millions of fans on three channels).

Discussions for the global release of Madhuri Dixit’s forthcoming EP are currently commencing with various labels, publishers, music agencies and music technology companies. For more information contact A&R Worldwide at info@anrworldwide.com.

Sony/ATV Music Publishing continues its run as the No.1 music publisher in the U.S. for the fifth consecutive year. The landmark achievement comes after Sony/ATV assumed the top spot on the latest quarterly publisher rankings based on U.S. radio performance, marking the company’s 20th consecutive quarter in the No.1 spot. The rankings are compiled every three months by Billboard and are determined by music publishers’ market share of the top 100 U.S. radio airplay songs for the last quarter, according to Nielsen Music data and song splits compiled by the Harry Fox Agency.

Sony/ATV’s 20th No.1 achievement saw the company with a 23.3% market share being represented on 49 of the top 100 songs on U.S. radio during Q2 2017. Nine of the quarter’s Top 10 radio songs are co-published by Sony/ATV, led by Bruno Mars’ “That’s What I Like,” the period’s No.1 hit, and “Shape Of You,” co-written and performed by Sony/ATV songwriter Ed Sheeran, at No. 2.

As it celebrates its industry leading success, Sony/ATV has also recently revealed a new worldwide signing with Chicago rapper Joey Purp as well as an extension to its worldwide agreement with LA-based singer/songwriter, Isley Juber.

A first mixtape under his own name, The Purple Tape, was released in 2012 when he was 18. With SaveMoney colleague, Kami de Chukwu, he also formed the duo Leather Corduroys and in early 2015 they put out their first project called Season.

Juber’s new agreement will cover future works as well as recent global hits including Shawn Mendes’ “Mercy,” Martin Garrix’s “In The Name Of Love” (featuring Bebe Rexha) and “Fireball” by Pitbull. Juber has also written for or with the likes of Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, Drake, Linkin Park and Britney Spears.
