The decision comes following the lawsuit filed in November by the U.S. Justice Department to block the merger. Despite the ruling that the merger doesn't violate antitrust law, and AT&T and Time Warner’s pending deadline of June 21st in place to complete the merger, it is possible that the government could appeal the decision, despite the Justice Department opting not to seek a stay. A&R WORLDWIDE’S "ARTIST OF THE WEEK" – GURR

To say Gurr has been busy as of late, is an understatement. After winning the much coveted IMPALA European Album of the Year Award, fending off The xx, Laura Marling and King Rule, the German duo have toured relentlessly and still found time to continue to write and record. The first taste of the new material can be heard with “Hot Summer,” a single that was conceived on a very grey day in London. Produced by Richard X (Roisin Murphy, Goldfrapp, Kelis), the song is a no–nonsense anti–summer anthem; a perfect antipode to those generic auto–tuned pop songs about dancing and drinking in the sun – listen HERE. Gurr’s Laura Lee and Andreya Casablanca have a full diary this summer as they are set to perform at over 20 European festivals including Rock Am Ring, Melt and Lollapalooza Berlin. Listen to “Hot Summer” here and contact Björn Deparade at bjoern@wasted–talent.com as Gurr is available for synch opportunities.

A&R WORLDWIDE’S "VIDEO OF THE WEEK" – THE VITRIOTS

Freshly formed in late last year, The Vitriots are an unstoppable garage rock band from Sydney. Inspired by such acts as The White Stripes, Nirvana and Oasis, their sound comes from blending together tongue–in–cheek lyrics, bumping bass riffs and melodically brash guitars. Since releasing their debut single “Long Way Down,” The Vitriots have earned airplay from Australia via Triple J to Los Angeles via KROQ. The track has earned over 25k streams on Spotify, added to a number of playlists in South America, Europe and the UK, in addition to being included on Apple Music’s "Rock A–List" playlist. The song, produced by Dylan Adams, best known for his work with DMA’s and Sticky Fingers, features an infectious guitar melody through thrashing drums that builds tension into a rowdy anthemic chorus. The quartet are currently finishing their album, due next year, and are supporting British India on the Sydney leg of their Australian tour this month. Watch the music clip for “Long Way Down” HERE and contact info@thevitriots.com for all inquiries.
