The Noisettes

The Noisettes

The Noisettes are a trio that originated in London in 2003. The band is comprised of singer and bassist Shingai Shoniway, guitarist Dan Smith and drummer Jamie Morrison. All three members came from other bands and formed in December 2003 and played a number of gigs across London over the winter season. Their popularity started to increase in early 2008 when they performed along with Paul Weller, Graham Coxon, The Smith’s Andy Rourke, and members of New Young Pony Club and Supergrass. During the performance, they created a special recording, along with their own material, to raise money for the homelessness charity Crisis Consequences. The Noisettes also performed at SXSW, the NME/Transgressive party and the two day music festival Camden Crawl in 2008. With constant touring in both Europe and the U.S., the Noisettes began to build a fan base and started to see an increase in their audience and their social networking sites. In the Spring of this year, the trio achieved commercial success and nationwide recognition with the second release of their second album, “Don’t Upset The Rhythm” which reached No. 2 on the UK Singles Charts. The new single “Never Forget You” is currently doing very well at U.S. Specialty radio with such supporters as KCRW Los Angeles, KITS San Francisco, KNRK Portland, KPNT St. Louis, WXPN Philadelphia, WWMM Birmingham and many others.
