MILES GERSH ELEVATED TO EXECUTIVE VP A&R AT WARNER RECORDS

Rising U.S. executive Miles Gersh has been elevated to Executive Vice President of A&R at Warner Records. Since joining the label in 2019, he has played a key role in identifying and nurturing a wide array of artists, most notably Zach Bryan. Based in Los Angeles, Gersh will continue reporting to Aaron Bay-Schuck, CEO & Co-Chairman, Warner Records, while collaborating closely with Karen Kwak, EVP & Head of A&R, and Gregg Nadel, President of A&R.

Gersh was instrumental in bringing Zach Bryan to the label in 2020 after recognizing the momentum of his independently released projects DeAnn and Elisabeth. After officially signing with Warner Records in 2021, Bryan achieved major success, including simultaneously topping the U.S. album and singles charts in 2023 with his self-titled album and the Grammy-winning hit “I Remember Everything” featuring Kacey Musgraves. His 2024 release The Great American Bar Scene placed 17 songs on the Billboard Hot 100, and he later set a record for the largest ticketed concert crowd in U.S. history at Michigan Stadium. Most recently, his album With Heaven on Top debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200, marking his second chart-topping project.
Beyond his work with Bryan, Gersh has also helped cultivate emerging artists like bunii, IShowSpeed, Maddox Batson, and CJ, as well as Detroit rapper Veeze, whose collaborations with artists such as Lil Uzi Vert and Lil Yachty have earned spots on the Billboard Hot 100.
Aaron Bay-Schuck stated, “Miles understands that true artist development starts with a deep respect for the creator’s voice. The partnership he has built with Zach, and his other outstanding artists, reflects his commitment to authenticity and his drive to help our talent win on their own terms. Miles is a vital part of the future of Warner Records, and this promotion is a testament to the key role he has played in elevating our music, our teams, and our culture.”
Gersh added, “I am deeply grateful to Aaron and Karen for their mentorship and for their belief in me as I take on this new role. They have championed a culture I am proud to be a part of – one that consistently puts the artist first. We have a remarkable roster, backed by the incredible Warner team, and I am excited to build on our momentum to help take our artists to the next level while bringing game-changing new talent into the fold.”
Previously serving as VP of A&R at Warner Records, Gersh has been recognized on Billboard‘s 40 Under 40 and Country Power Players lists. He launched his career in 2018 at Doug Morris‘s 12Tone Music and earned a bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurial Studies from Syracuse University.
SEEKER MUSIC ACQUIRES NU SHOOZ’ SYNTH-POP CATALOG

Seeker Music has acquired the masters and publishing catalog of ’80s synthpop group Nu Shooz, including their breakout 1986 album Poolside and the global hit “I Can’t Wait,” which reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.

Formed in Portland by John Smith and Valerie Day, Nu Shooz evolved from a jazz-funk outfit into international pop-R&B stars, with “I Can’t Wait” becoming a worldwide success following a remix by Dutch DJ Peter Slaghuis. The Grammy-nominated group was later inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame and remains influential in dance music culture. The acquisition adds Nu Shooz to Seeker’s growing $400 million (USD) catalog which includes works by artists such as Joan Jett, Run the Jewels, and Christopher Cross.
Known for its artist-first approach, Seeker focuses on revitalizing classic catalogs through strategic and creative campaigns, with plans already in motion to celebrate the 40th anniversary of “I Can’t Wait” and release previously unheard material.
Evan Bogart, CEO, Seeker Music, tells A&R Worldwide, “Nu Shooz defined an era with one of the most groundbreaking sounds of the ’80s. “I Can’t Wait” still feels fresh and alive today, and we are beyond excited to breathe new life into these legendary synth-pop hits. Honoring the DNA of seminal global hits and extending their legacy with future generations is what Seeker was built for.”
Nu Shooz was represented in the transaction by Peter Csathy of Deep Cuts Media and Peter Vaughn Shaver, Esq. for Sound Advice, LLC, and Seeker Music was represented by Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, for Counsel, LLP, as well as Bogart, General Counsel, Dan Stuart, and Chief Creative Officer, Steven Melrose.

Langebaek has collaborated with Dean since her 2018 debut single “Reason to Stay” and has also contributed to songs such as “Dive” and “The Hardest Part” featuring Leon Bridges.

He was previously signed to Universal Music Publishing Group, where he collaborated with A&R executive Mark Gale, who later co-founded Second Songs with his partner Caroline Elleray as part of a joint venture with Sony Music Publishing U.K. in 2022.

Enjoying a conversation in London, England was Sat Bisla (President & Founder, A&R Worldwide) with Ben Mortimer (President, Polydor Records). The two met back in 1997 when Ben Mortimer had started his first job at Virgin Records in London and was just beginning to hone his chops in artist and repertoire to eventually become a highly respected label A&R executive and eventually President of Polydor Records.
Meanwhile, Bisla was a non-exclusive A&R consultant to over a dozen record label Presidents and CEOs in the U.S. and U.K., as well as advising leading A&R executives, music publishers, agents and managers worldwide, whilst also holding jobs as an influential music industry trade journalist and radio DJ, as well as managing producer and composer Rob Dougan (aka Clubbed To Death– one of the most licensed artists for film, TV and commercials in the world at the time).

CHANIN
Berlin, Germany-based singer-songwriter Chanin continues to carve out his own lane with “Whisper,” a quietly powerful single that leans into his gift for turning raw emotion into something beautifully understated. Blending modern pop with a touch of melancholy, the track feels intimate and immediate, the kind of song that draws you in rather than demands your attention. Carried by his deep, unmistakable voice, “Whisper” explores vulnerability in its softest form, the things left unsaid, the moments that linger, and the weight emotion can carry even at its quietest. There is a subtle cinematic quality to the production, allowing Chanin’s storytelling to sit front and center, echoing the emotional pull of artists like Hozier and Dermot Kennedy. Chanin’s journey has been built on connection. From early days playing pubs and weddings in his hometown to sharing stages with artists like Kelvin Jones and Mark Forster, he has developed a natural ability to hold a room, whether through a stripped-back performance or a fully realized pop moment. That same authenticity runs through his songwriting, which has also seen him collaborate across genres and languages with international artists and producers. With “Whisper,” Chanin leans into restraint rather than spectacle, proving that sometimes the quietest songs are the ones that hit the hardest. Listen to the single HERE and contact Tjark Hartwig for available opportunities worldwide on behalf of Chanin.
Brighton, England-based four-piece Lime Garden step into their boldest era yet with “Downtown Lover,” a standout moment from their second album Maybe Not Tonight, a record that plays out like a night you don’t quite remember but feel the next morning. Fizzing with their signature “wonk-pop” charm, “Downtown Lover” captures that hazy, magnetic pull of late-night connection, equal parts euphoria, and emotional fallout. It is slick, hooky, and deceptively light on the surface, but like much of the album, there is something more unsettled simmering underneath. Lime Garden has a knack for dressing heavy feelings in bright, irresistible melodies, and here they lean all the way in. Maybe Not Tonight unfolds like a full night out from the thrill of stepping into the unknown to the messy, introspective comedown. Written in the wake of a collective “mass breakup,” the album sees the band grappling with grief, self-image, and the habits we cling to, all while embracing a kind of self-aware chaos. It is playful, but it is also brutally honest. Working with producer Charlie Andrew (Wolf Alice, alt-J), Lime Garden expands their sound into something more textured and immersive, with glitchy vocals, off-kilter grooves, and shimmering guitars colliding in ways that feel both spontaneous and carefully constructed. It is a step forward that still holds onto the raw, live energy that first puts them on the map. Watch the visual for “Downtown Lover” HERE, and contact Karen Moran-Thomas for available opportunities with Lime Garden.
