APPLE MUSIC’S ZANE LOWE TO INTERVIEW DANIEL GLASS,
FOUNDER OF GLASSNOTE ENTERTAINMENT GROUP, IN AN A&R WORLDWIDE CONVERSATION AND ALEXANDRA NICKSON, SR. VP TV MUSIC, DREAMWORKS ANIMATION TO RECEIVE THE “GLOBAL MEDIA EXECUTIVE AWARD”
AT MUSEXPO 2027
Apple Music’s Global Creative Director Zane Lowe will sit down with legendary A&R executive and independent music entrepreneur Daniel Glass, Founder & CEO of Glassnote Entertainment Group, for a special A&R Worldwide 25th anniversary conversation during the 27th global edition of MUSEXPO, (March 21 – 24, 2027) taking place at Castaway in Burbank, California.
The intimate conversation will explore the art and science of artist development in the modern music business, the enduring importance of A&R instincts in an era increasingly shaped by data and technology, and the rapidly evolving global music marketplace. Lowe and Glass will also discuss the philosophy and entrepreneurial culture behind Glassnote’s emergence as one of the world’s leading independent international music companies.
For more than five decades, Daniel Glass has worked at the intersection of artist discovery, development, and global music entrepreneurship. His career began behind the decks at New York’s legendary Regine’s discotheque before moving through SAM Records, Chrysalis, and SBK Records, ultimately becoming President & CEO of EMI Records Group North America and founding President of Universal Records.
In 2007, Glass launched Glassnote Music with a distinct artist-first philosophy. Today, Glassnote encompasses Glassnote Records and Connection Music Publishing, with operations spanning New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Austin, and London.
The label’s roster includes Grammy Award-winning artists Mumford & Sons and Phoenix, and Grammy and Latin Grammy Award-winning Silvana Estrada, alongside Jade Bird, Two Door Cinema Club, Tors, bby, Talia Rae, The Teskey Brothers, and Patrick Martin. Glassnote has also been home to influential artists including The Temper Trap(introduced to Daniel Glass by A&R Worldwide in 2008), AURORA, CHVRCHES, and Childish Gambino.
Glass’ career has included artist stories involving Billy Idol, Wilson Phillips, Sinéad O’Connor, Blur, Jesus Jones, Erykah Badu, The Pretenders, Huey Lewis & the News, and Pat Benatar. His approach has consistently emphasized the human side of A&R: recognizing compelling artists early, developing their creative identities, and building sustainable careers rather than simply chasing the next moment.

Joining him will be Lowe, one of the most influential voices in contemporary music discovery and artist storytelling. As Apple Music’s Global Creative Director and lead anchor of Apple Music 1, Lowe has built a reputation for deeply personal and revealing conversations with some of the world’s most important artists.
A Grammy-nominated musician, DJ, and producer himself, Lowe brings a unique understanding of the creative process and engages artists from the perspective of both broadcaster and fellow creator. His Apple Music interviews have included Kendrick Lamar, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Eminem, Tyler, The Creator, Burna Boy, and Dave Grohl, among many others.
The Daniel Glass conversation will be one of several high-level A&R interviews, executive conversations and panels presented by A&R Worldwide as part of its 25th anniversary celebrations in 2027 at MUSEXPO.

Founded by Sat Bisla in 2002 and launched in 2003, A&R Worldwide has spent 25 years connecting emerging talent with the global music business, championing trusted relationships, authentic discovery, and long-term artist development. Bisla’s influence has extended to supporting the early careers of artists including Coldplay, Muse, Keane, Adele, Katy Perry, Jessie J, Sia, Faithless, Dido, LMFAO, The Temper Trap, Lily Allen, Corinne Bailey Rae, Lorde, Gavin James, Picture This, Frank Turner, Tove Lo, Teddybears, Forest Blakk, Ting Tings, Gotye, Missy Higgins, Wolfmother, Sheppard, and many others.
Reflecting on A&R Worldwide’s quarter-century journey, Bisla says the company was founded not simply as a business platform, but as a community built around “great music, trust and authentic relationships, and impactful opportunities.”
That philosophy will be reflected in the Lowe – Glass conversation, bringing together two highly respected music executives whose careers have centered on recognizing creative potential, understanding culture, and helping extraordinary artists connect with audiences around the world.
Alexandra Nickson, Senior Vice President, Television Music, DreamWorks Animation, has been named the recipient of the prestigious “Global Media Executive of the Year Award” at the annual “International Music Industry Awards,” which take place after the conclusion of MUSEXPO, and are organized by A&R Worldwide.
The “Global Media Executive of the Year Award” honors executives whose creative leadership, innovation, and influence have helped redefine the role of music across film, television, animation, and global media.

Nickson is an Emmy-winning music executive and educator whose more than two decades of experience spans music strategy, composer relationships, licensing, and creative direction across television and preschool features.
Her work has contributed to several celebrated music-driven productions. Nickson earned an Emmy Award for her work on Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight and received an Emmy nomination for Orion and the Dark, reflecting her work bringing together composers, songwriters, artists, producers, and creative teams to enhance the emotional and cultural impact of visual storytelling.
Throughout her career, Nickson has held senior music executive positions at MGM Pictures, Amblin Entertainment, The Walt Disney Company, and Freeform, giving her experience across feature film, television, studio, and network environments.
The honor recognizes Nickson’s ability to navigate the rapidly evolving entertainment landscape while maintaining a focus on music’s power to shape character, emotion, narrative, and audience connection.
“I have spent the past 13 years at DreamWorks Animation building music for film and television streaming content that I hope resonates with people of all ages. I’ve always believed there is no such thing as ‘kids music,’ there is simply great music: music that moves you, stays with you, and becomes part of the emotional memory of a story,” said Alexandra Nickson, Sr. Vice President, Music, DreamWorks Animation. “My passion is bringing new voices to the table, creating opportunities for artists, songwriters, composers, and producers from all backgrounds to be heard, and connecting those voices with stories where their music can make a real impact. I am deeply honored to be recognized as Global Music Executive of the Year, and grateful to the collaborators, teams and artists who continue to inspire me every day.”
MUSEXPO 2027 will also bring together an international community of music executives, artists, composers, songwriters, producers, music supervisors, publishers, labels, managers, technology leaders, and media professionals for four days of conversations, networking, performances, education, and global business opportunities.
MUSEXPO has long recognized individuals whose creative leadership has elevated the art and business of music supervision across film, television, streaming, and interactive entertainment. RELIANT MUSIC PARTNERS WITH WARNER MUSIC GROUP’S ADA BENELUX

Reliant Music has teamed up with ADA Benelux, Warner Music Group’s independent distribution and label services division, in a partnership aimed at expanding the company’s international reach. Announced September 8, the deal brings together Reliant’s A&R and artist development expertise with ADA’s global distribution and label services infrastructure.

The partnership will support projects from the initial stages of creative development through international release and growth, according to Reliant. The Vancouver, Canada-based company describes its business as “song-first,” combining A&R, song management, and independent dance music operations with a focus on connecting North American pop songwriting with European dance music.
Reliant works selectively with artists, producers, and songwriters, developing records and facilitating collaborations based on the creative needs of each project. The company is led in North America by John Dexter and Adrian Lock, with Mischa Daniëls serving as VP of A&R for Europe.
Its team has been involved in projects including Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” and Loud Luxury’s “Body,” as well as work connected to artists such as Armin van Buuren, Timmy Trumpet, KSHMR, R3HAB, Nicky Romero, W&W, Fedde Le Grand and NERVO.
“At ADA Benelux, we’re proud of our collaboration with Reliant Music,” said Pim Lauwerier, Head of ADA Benelux. “They are a fantastic team of skilled professionals with a genuine passion for music, who excel at developing a demo into a hit record, all while keeping a sharp eye for detail. We are confident this partnership has even bigger achievements ahead of us, and we cannot wait to celebrate new successes together.”
Reliant said the new relationship with ADA represents the next stage of its international expansion.
A&R Worldwide worked closely with Reliant’s John Dexter for several years to help with elevating the company’s global business networks and partnerships, and furthering international creative and licensing opportunities.
SUNO INKS GLOBAL LICENSING DEAL WITH BELIEVE

Believe has reached a partnership with AI music platform Suno, reversing course just months after the music company began blocking the distribution of tracks created using Suno’s then-unlicensed models.

Announced September 8, the global agreement covers participating repertoire from Believe and TuneCore, Believe’s self-service platform for independent artists. Under the deal, participating artists and labels can opt in for new licensed music products that Suno is developing with music-industry partners. Music from those participants will also be incorporated into Suno’s new generation of AI models.
The partnership marks a change from Believe’s April 30 policy, when the company began automatically blocking tracks generated through unlicensed AI platforms, including Suno. The new agreement applies specifically to Suno’s upcoming industry partner model and does not cover music created using its current models, which Suno plans to retire once the new system launches.
Artists who participate will receive compensation for their music, while their rights will be protected under the agreement. They will also receive Suno’s training protections and benefit from newly introduced transparency measures and download limits.
Suno introduced those download restrictions in August, limiting Pro subscribers to 20 song downloads per month and Premier subscribers to 60. Users of Suno Studio are not subject to the cap. The limits took effect on September 3.
The partnership signals a shift toward a licensed model for AI-generated music, with Believe and TuneCore artists gaining a route to distribute tracks created through Suno’s new industry-partner system.
MUSIC & ENTERTAINMENT EXECUTIVES FORM FORGE MUSIC GROUP

Matt Geffen, Ben Schecter, Charlie Perl, and Tim Jordan have launched Forge Music Group, a new “next generation” music company spanning management, recorded music, publishing, and film.
The company operates across three divisions: Forge Management, Forge Records, and Forge Publishing, bringing together services designed to support artists, songwriters, producers, and other music-industry creatives across multiple areas of their careers.

Forge Management’s roster includes artists, songwriters, producers, and studio professionals, with clients spanning established and emerging talent. The management division represents Japanese artist Yuki Chiba in partnership with Warner Music Japan, as well as singer-songwriters Nat & Alex Wolff and CARLA, who co-wrote Tame Impala and JENNIE’s “Dracula.” Its producer and songwriter roster includes Joe Reeves, whose credits include Stella Lefty’s “Boston” and Morgan Wallen’s “What I Want;” JULiA LEWiS, who worked on Bad Bunny’s “DTMF;” Grammy-winning mix engineer Teezio; and Grammy-winning producers Southside and Wheezy, whose credits include Drake’s “Ran to Atlanta,” among others.
Forge Records has launched with releases from artist bixby and singer-songwriter Carol Ades, marking the beginning of the label’s recorded-music operations. Forge Publishing has also announced its first signings, including U.K. artist Ebubé, singer-songwriter Avery Lynch and Grammy-winning producer Peter Lee Johnson. The publishing arm will add another layer to Forge’s artist-focused model, providing songwriting and publishing support alongside the company’s management and recorded-music operations.
Beyond its music divisions, Forge is expanding into film through music supervision. In partnership with Heavy Duty Projects, the company is providing music supervision for Fleur, the upcoming feature from director Ellie Foumbi, starring Halle Berry. Additional film projects are expected to be announced as Forge continues to expand its work across music and screen.
Before launching Forge, Geffen, Schecter and Perl helped build independent music company Coup D’État, whose catalog has generated more than ten billion streams worldwide. Geffen has also advised organizations and companies including The Recording Academy, YEEZY, EarthPercent and APG, bringing experience across music, technology, artist development, and the broader entertainment industry to Forge’s new venture.
[PIAS] RELAUNCHES THE ICONIC FRENCH SOURCE LABEL

[PIAS] is bringing back its influential Source label, with its U.K. and French teams joining forces to oversee A&R and creative direction.

First launched around the turn of the millennium, Source built a formidable reputation through artists including Air, Phoenix, Kings of Convenience, Turin Brakes and Simian. The label’s new incarnation will take a distinctly international approach, combining the local expertise and industry networks of [PIAS] U.K. and [PIAS] France with the company’s global infrastructure to help artists reach audiences across multiple markets.
Source’s first wave of signings includes Ifulki, Disgusting Sisters, Epal and Hina. The label says it is aiming for an eclectic roster covering alternative pop, electronic, rock and music influenced by a wide range of cultures and genres.
Kenny Gates, Co-Founder & Executive Chairman of [PIAS], said, “Source has a fantastic history, but this is not about trying to recreate the past. It is about taking the spirit that made the label special – discovering distinctive artists, trusting their vision, and giving them the time and support to develop – and applying that to a new generation.”
The four artists will release new music through Source as the label begins its next chapter under joint U.K. and French leadership. [PIAS] also continues to represent parts of Source’s original catalog, creating a direct connection between the label’s legacy and its renewed direction.

Each week, A&R Worldwide shares a snapshot of creatives and executives that we have collaborated or worked with in various music markets around the world, albeit in recent or previous times!

Atul Churamani, Managing Director of Turnkey Music; Ramprasad Sundar, Head of Music Partnerships, Artist & Label Relations, YouTube, India & South Asia; Sat Bisla, President & Founder, A&R Worldwide / MUSEXPO; and Reynold D’Silva, Founder & CEO, Silva Screen Group, represent four longstanding relationships within the international music business whose connections to one another have been built over years of shared experiences, collaborations, conversations, and a mutual trust and passion for the growth of music across India and the global marketplace.
Their collective relationship with the Indian music market spans multiple generations of the industry, reflecting the evolution of India from an important regional music territory into one of the world’s most dynamic and influential music markets. Each has, in different capacities, contributed to the development of opportunities connecting Indian artists, music companies, technology platforms and creative communities with the wider international music ecosystem.
Bisla’s relationship with India has been longstanding, having maintained extensive creative and business relationships across the country and its global diaspora throughout his early career and A&R Worldwide’s history, while Churamani has been a prominent advocate for the development and professionalization of India’s contemporary music business and music publishing ecosystems. D’Silva’s international perspective has likewise helped create bridges between Indian and global music communities and he has helped launch several successful companies within India across publishing, sync, brands, and beyond. Meanwhile, Sundar has played a key role in the continuing transformation of India’s digital music, sync, media, and artist ecosystem through his current work with YouTube, and previous key roles at Netflix and Amazon MGM Studios across India and surrounding territories.
Their gathering in Mumbai during All About Music was another reflection of those enduring relationships – four longtime friends, colleagues and music-business advocates reconnecting in a market they have each helped champion for decades, while continuing the conversations and collaborations that have kept India increasingly connected to the global music industry.

CHLOE QISHA

DR JO TWIST OBE ON AI, BRITISH MUSIC, AND THE ECOSYSTEM BEHIND GLOBAL SUCCESS: The latest episode of the Blinding Talent Music Industry Podcast features a wide-ranging conversation with Dr Jo Twist OBE, CEO of the BPI, recorded with Blinding Talent Founder Mark Adams. One of the key takeaways is Twist’s clear distinction between AI as disruption and AI as destruction. She argues that companies training generative AI models on creative work should be held to the same standards as any other resource they would never expect to access for free, drawing a powerful comparison to “land, power or water.” Twist also explores why major cultural moments such as the BRITs moving to Manchester and the Mercury Prize moving to Newcastle matter beyond the ceremonies themselves, helping to decentralize the U.K.’s music industry and create opportunities across different regions. The conversation also shines a light on the often-overlooked ecosystem behind every so-called “overnight success”, from grassroots venues and music education to funding and local infrastructure. Finally, Twist discusses the growing global impact of British artists including Sam Fender, RAYE, Olivia Dean and YUNGBLUD, and why they are finding international audiences while maintaining a powerful sense of cultural identity. It is a timely conversation on AI, creativity, regional growth, and the future of the British music industry, and one worth having on your radar.
