WARNER MUSIC FRANCE LAUNCHES ADORE MUSIC
A new chapter for dance music begins today with the launch of Adore Music, Warner Music France‘s dedicated dance label. Designed to bring together both emerging and established talent, Adore Music’s mandate is to highlight the best dance music in the world.

Adore Music aims to establish itself as a key player by offering its artists access to the global resources of Warner Music and its network. It will identify and support the talent of today and tomorrow, in France and internationally, by providing them with the means to fully express themselves and reach new audiences. The label will strive to gain a global footprint by working closely with Warner Music France’s global-facing teams and Warner Music’s powerful international A&R and marketing networks.
Romain Pasquier, Managing Director of Adore Music, said, “Adore Music marks a bold evolution for Warner Music France, reaffirming its leading role in the electronic music landscape. France has a rich legacy of global superstars like Air, Daft Punk, David Guetta, and Gesaffelstein. Our ambition is to honor this tradition while propelling the next generation of talent onto the global stage.”
To celebrate its launch, Adore Music organized a creative camp that brought together more than thirty artists, producers, and composers in the brand-new studios of 118, the headquarters of Warner Music France. In partnership with Ultra Music Publishing and Warner Chappell Music, this event further strengthened this momentum by offering a unique creative space, highlighting the label’s commitment to producing and promoting the sounds of tomorrow.
The label has a strong schedule, with several projects and exclusive collaborations in the works for its newly signed artists. Adore Music’s first release was on March 21, with “Need You the Most,” the new single by Ofenbach, the most-streamed French group internationally in 2024.

PRIMARY WAVE ACQUIRES STAKE IN NOTORIOUS B.I.G.’S CATALOG
Primary Wave has officially finalized a deal to acquire a major stake in the Notorious B.I.G.‘s recordings, publishing catalog, and his name, image, and likeness rights.

While the financial terms of the agreement remain undisclosed, sources close to the matter told The Wall Street Journal on March 20th that Primary Wave now holds a 50% interest in the Notorious B.I.G. estate, placing the value of the late rapper’s entire legacy at over $200 million (USD). The deal was reportedly approved by Biggie Smalls’ mother, Voletta Wallace, shortly before her passing last month.
The partnership will see Primary Wave collaborating with the Notorious B.I.G. estate to explore a variety of projects aimed at cementing his status as a cultural icon. Potential ventures include a Broadway show centered on his life and immersive experiences that could feature his music alongside virtual avatars.
Known as Christopher Wallace and Biggie Smalls, the Brooklyn rapper’s estate is managed by Mark Pitts and Wayne Barrow, Co-Founders of ByStorm Entertainment, who had worked closely with Wallace during his time at Bad Boy Records.
Voletta Wallace, who passed away at 78, had played a key role in overseeing her son’s estate and legacy since his tragic death in 1997. She was responsible for the production of a biopic and the management of his posthumous career.
Primary Wave, which has made significant acquisitions in recent years, has also expanded its portfolio with rights to works by artists such as Bob Marley, Whitney Houston, Stevie Nicks, and Luther Vandross. Recently, the company signed deals with Grammy-winning songwriter Jimmy Webb, the estate of Jerry Jeff Walker, Itzhak Perlman, and Chuck Mangione. Additionally, Primary Wave has acquired the catalog of Nuno Bettencourt of Extreme, entered a publishing partnership with The Spin Doctors, and secured rights to Neil Finn‘s music from Crowded House.

AS IFPI REVEALS GLOBAL MARKET RESULTS, INDUSTRY LEADERS ADDRESS THREATS AND OPPORTUNITIES FROM AI: Music industry leaders from global music companies gathered in London for the launch of the IFPI Global Music Report 2025. This annual report, which covers the global market performance for 2024, painted a largely positive picture for the music industry, although the growth rate showed signs of slowing down. As is typical for these events, discussions focused on key topics like the rise of paid streaming services, the role of ad-funded tiers, artist collaborations, and emerging markets. However, the central issue dominating the agenda was the growing threat posed by generative AI to the music sector. This discussion came at a pivotal time, as the IFPI’s data marked the 10th anniversary of the industry’s recovery from the effects of piracy in the early 2000s. Victoria Oakley, CEO of IFPI, led her first Global Music Report since stepping into the role and acknowledged that AI has become a key focus for the music policy agenda this year. Dennis Kooker, a longtime participant at IFPI events, shared insights on behalf of the major labels, revealing that they had already taken initiative-taking measures to protect artists. Earlier this month, it was disclosed that the label had requested the removal of over 75,000 fake AI-generated tracks imitating its artists’ music. Despite concerns over AI, Kooker highlighted the continued 9.5% growth in paid subscription revenue, emphasizing that the success of the streaming model hinges on maintaining a robust copyright framework.
