THE 68TH ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS RECAP

At the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, CA, the global music community convened to celebrate excellence across genres, cultures, and creative disciplines. The evening was defined by boundary-pushing wins, historic milestones, and performances that reflected the increasingly international scope of contemporary music.

Among the night’s most significant triumphs was Bad Bunny, whose album DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS earned Album of the Year, marking a watershed moment for non-English-language music at the Grammys’ highest level. The win reinforced his status as one of the most influential global artists of his generation and underscores the Academy’s expanding embrace of international voices.

In the evening’s top songwriting honor, Billie Eilish and FINNEAS won Song of the Year for “WILDFLOWER,” recognizing a composition that resonated deeply with audiences worldwide. Record of the Year was awarded to Kendrick Lamar and SZA for “Luther,” while Lamar further dominated the rap categories, winning Best Rap Album for GNX and Best Rap Song for “TV Off,” continuing his legacy as one of hip-hop’s most impactful and influential artists. With these wins, Lamar further solidified his standing as one of the most awarded hip-hop artists in Grammy history.

The Best New Artist award was presented to Olivia Dean, whose soulful body of work and compelling artistry have resonated widely over the past year. Her acceptance speech, centered on authenticity and creative purpose, stood out as one of the evening’s most heartfelt moments.

Elsewhere, the ceremony delivered historic and genre-spanning highlights. The Cure earned their first Grammy Awards, taking Best Alternative Music Album for Songs of a Lost World and Best Alternative Music Performance for “Alone,” a long-overdue recognition of the band’s enduring influence. FKA twigs captured Best Dance/Electronic Album for EUSEXUA, Turnstile won Best Rock Album for Never Enough, and Leon Thomas emerged as a breakout winner in R&B, claiming Best R&B Album for Mutt. Lady Gaga added to her storied career with a win for Best Pop Vocal Album for Mayhem.

Hosted once again by Trevor Noah, the broadcast balanced spectacle with reflection, celebrating both legacy artists and forward-thinking innovators. A particularly notable milestone came when Steven Spielberg achieved EGOT status following his Grammy win for Music by John Williams, adding another historic chapter to the evening.

As the night drew to a close, the 68th Annual Grammy Awards captured a music industry in motion – one that honors its legends while increasingly elevating global voices, bold creativity, and new perspectives shaping the future of music.

A&R Worldwide Artist Of The Week

DAILY J

Daily J recently unleashed “Hopetown,” a nostalgic, blue-collar indie anthem that captures the beauty, chaos, and quiet romance of Auckland’s nightlife. Named after the tucked-away street off K Road. Taken from the Scatterbrains (On Second Thought) deluxe album, “Hopetown” blends dreamy indie-pop textures with relaxed grooves and sun-soaked melodies. Shimmering guitars, smooth vocals, and an easy sense of momentum give the song its escapist pull, while a subtle ’80s-inspired sax line adds a knowing wink of nostalgia. It’s a track about chasing feelings, losing time, and finding your people in the in-between hours. For vocalist Jayden Paul, the song is deeply rooted in place. “Hopetown was a special spot for us off K Road,” he says, an ironic refuge where misfits gather to forget the world for a night or two. That tension between romance and reality runs through the song, grounding its optimism in something lived-in and real. Since the original release of Scatterbrains, the Sydney-via-Auckland outfit have continued to broaden their sound and reach, channeling the warmth and vibrancy of the southern hemisphere into a run of effortlessly melodic indiepop. With “Hopetown,” Daily J bottle a moment, part love letter, part escape, cementing their knack for turning specific places and shared experiences into songs that feel universally familiar. Listen to the track HERE, and contact Matt Harvey, management for Daily J, for additional information. For booking, contact Marlon (U.K. & E.U.), Brandon (North America), Evan (Australia/Asia), Julian (New Zealand), and for broadcast media, reach out to Robb.

SEX MASK

Melbourne post-punk provocateurs Sex Mask have unleashed “Cold,” a reverb-drenched, high-adrenaline single that signals a bold new chapter for the band and introduces their latest EP, Body Broker. Already tipped by NME as “Australia’s next big export,” and has support from BBC 6 Music (U.K.), triple j (Australia), Passport Approved (worldwide), and KEXP (Seattle), the trio continues to justify the hype with a track that feels volatile, hypnotic, and uncomfortably alive. Built on hook-heavy indie-punk propulsion with flashes of new-wave and post-punk menace, “Cold” pairs ruminative, half-unraveling vocals with a restless sense of momentum. It’s a song that simmers and surges in equal measure – tense, cathartic, and strangely addictive. The accompanying video leans into that unease, amplifying the track’s claustrophobic energy and emotional dislocation. Sex Mask operate as a fully self-contained unit: Vicente Moncada (drums/production), Wry Gray (vocals/lyrics), and Kaya Martin (guitars/synths). Despite releasing only a handful of singles, they’ve already built a fiercely devoted following and racked up praise from DIY, CLASH, The Line of Best Fit, and Kerrang!, with breakout track “TV Movie” nearing 1.5 million streams on Spotify. Lyrically, “Cold” draws from a surreal and unsettling real-life moment, written while Gray was seriously ill abroad, an origin story that mirrors the song’s sense of disorientation and psychological intensity. That balance between the absurd and the deeply introspective has become a defining trait of Sex Mask’s output. The wider Body Broker EP pushes their sound further still, folding in industrial rhythms, avant-rock guitar mazes, explosive vocal performances, and shout-along choruses. A guest appearance from Noah Learmonth of Radio Free Alice, recent touring partners, adds another dimension to an already multi-faceted release. Watch the visual for “Cold” HERE, and contact Adrian McGruther for available opportunities worldwide with Sex Mask.
