ONEREPUBLIC INKS GLOBAL RECORDINGS DEAL & TOM WALKER SIGNS PUBLISHING AGREEMENT WITH BMG
OneRepublic has inked a new global recordings agreement with BMG ahead of the release of their seventh studio album. The band’s first single under the new partnership, “Beautiful Colors,” arrives on July 25, marking their first project with a new label since their 2007 debut on Mosley Music/Interscope.
OneRepublic’s breakthrough came with their debut album Dreaming Out Loud and its lead single “Apologize,” a global phenomenon that sold over 20 million copies and earned the band a Grammy nomination.

Their 2009 follow-up Waking Up delivered singles including “Secrets,” “Good Life,” and “All the Right Moves.” In 2013, they released the Platinum-certified Native, home to the 40 million-selling global hit “Counting Stars.” Subsequent albums Oh My My (2016) and Human (2021) expanded their sound and audience.
Most recently, in 2024, OneRepublic released Artificial Paradise, which included the 4x Platinum single “I Ain’t Worried” from the Top Gun: Maverick soundtrack, and “West Coast”.
With more than 18 billion streams on Spotify alone, the band, led by frontman Ryan Tedder, continues to be a force in global pop-rock.
Ryan Tedder said, “We’re excited to join the BMG family to keep releasing music that our fans will love. Jon and Dan have already been such incredible partners throughout this entire process and we’re looking forward to their continued support. We can’t wait for our fans to hear our new single ‘Beautiful Colors’ inspired by the Japanese anime series Kaiju No. 8, coming out later this month!”

Also, Tom Walker, the British singer and songwriter behind global hits like “Leave a Light On” and “Just You and I,” has inked a worldwide publishing deal with BMG.
This new partnership pairs Walker’s lyricism and vocals with BMG’s global publishing expertise and creative resources. A BRIT Award winner and the artist behind the platinum-selling debut album What A Time To Be Alive, Walker has carved out a space as one of Scotland’s most emotive and distinctive voices in contemporary music. With over three billion streams and 3.5 million album sales to his name, Walker continues to strike a chord with fans around the world through his introspective songwriting and performances.
Tom Walker said, “BMG has believed in me from early on, so to finally be teaming up with them now feels incredibly special. I’ve been through a lot over the last few years, and this next era of music is the most honest I’ve ever made. To have a team behind me that truly gets that means the world. I’m proper excited for what’s to come.”
Simon King, CEO & Founder, Covert Talent Management, commented, “We’ve had a long-standing relationship with the BMG team through our work with other writers, and Lisa has always been a passionate supporter of Tom. It’s incredibly meaningful to now be collaborating on this new chapter, especially at a time when Tom’s songwriting and artistic focus are the strongest, they’ve ever been. We’re genuinely excited about the journey ahead and what we can build together with BMG on a global scale!”
Lisa Cullington, Vice President, Creative, Publishing, BMG, added, “We’re excited to welcome Tom Walker to BMG. He’s a phenomenal songwriter and artist whose music connects on such a deep, emotional level. We can’t wait to support him in this next exciting chapter.
SAVAN KOTECHA’S VISVA RECORDS FORMS JV WITH REPUBLIC RECORDS
Visva Records, the newly launched label from Grammy-nominated hitmaker Savan Kotecha, has entered a joint venture with Republic Records, in a move that follows the streaming success of KPop Demon Hunters, Netflix‘s animated K-pop film.

The soundtrack, which marked Visva’s debut release, has reached the top of Apple Music and iTunes charts worldwide, with tracks from the film’s fictional groups, Saja Boys and Huntr/x, racking up millions of global streams. Songs like “Your Idol,” “Soda Pop,” “Golden,” and “How It’s Done” have dominated playlists and made a real-world impact beyond the screen.
The song “Golden,” performed by Huntr/x, was officially released on July 4th by Republic Records as a single, complete with instrumental and acapella versions. The Visva–Republic collaboration gives Republic global distribution rights for Visva’s growing roster, which includes Magnus Ferrell, OutStation, and Dhee.
Commenting on the deal with Republic Records, Savan Kotecha said, “I’ve been working closely with Republic Records since 2013 and have experienced some of the most defining moments of my career with them. They are truly a world-class team and it’s the honor of a lifetime to now partner with them on my first-ever label, Visva Records. Visva will focus on breaking global barriers, developing artists, and crafting key pop culture soundtracks. I’m incredibly excited about this new chapter—and proud that our first project, K-Pop Demon Hunters, is already bringing that vision to life and making a major impact around the world. The goal of Visva Records is to be an A&R-first label that champions global, diverse talent.”
Founded by Kotecha, the songwriter behind hits like “Bang Bang” (Jessie J), “Can’t Feel My Face” (The Weeknd), “Cool for the Summer” (Demi Lovato), “Beauty and a Beat” (Justin Bieber), and dozens more, Visva Records was created to nurture global talent and help break international artists onto the world stage. With a history that spans collaborations with Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Celine Dion, Maroon 5, Katy Perry, and more, Kotecha brings his exceptional pop pedigree to the venture. His work also extends into television and film, including projects with Sony Animation, ABC, and HBO.
BIG MACHINE LABEL FORMS CROSS-GENRE LABEL WITH U.S. MUSIC BUSINESS VETERAN JOEL KLAIMAN
Big Machine Label Group (BMLG) has announced the creation of Ascend Music, a new imprint launched in partnership with longtime U.S. music executive Joel Klaiman.
The new venture marks a reunion between BMLG founder Scott Borchetta and Joel Klaiman, who collaborated in 2008 to promote Taylor Swift‘s breakout single “Love Story,” the first track to top both the Country and Pop radio charts. Klaiman played a key promotional role in Swift’s Fearless, Speak Now, and Red albums while working in executive roles at Republic Records.

Over the years, Klaiman has held senior positions at major labels including Columbia Records, Epic Records, and Sony Music, where he specialized in promotion, artist development, and strategic marketing. In 2023, he launched ASCEND4M, a consultancy focused on media, branding, and artist strategy. That brand now serves as the namesake inspiration behind Ascend Music.
The label is expected to focus on breaking boundary-pushing talent across multiple genres, an approach Borchetta and Klaiman believe aligns with the way fans engage with music today.
Commenting on the partnership, Scott Borchetta said, “Joel’s energy, vision, and passion are contagious, and he never leaves any stone unturned when he’s collaborating with an artist. He’s bringing talented artists to the partnership, and we will be wasting no time in getting out some game-changing music.”
Joel Klaiman added, “After witnessing first-hand Scott’s entrepreneurial vision and his deep commitment to fostering an artist-first, development-driven culture, it’s a dream come true to collaborate with him and the BMLG team again. This new venture will fuel the growth of our artists and expand Ascend Music’s global repertoire – aligned with both our company’s shared vision and a strategy that unlocks exciting opportunities for all involved.”
Klaiman got his start in radio promotion in the early 1990s at Savage Records in New York City where he helped with the marketing of U.K. artists David Bowie (“Jump”), and Gene Loves Jezebel.
SEEKER MUSIC ACQUIRES JAY SEAN, CARDIAK, AND ROBERT “BOBBY BASS” LAROW CATALOG
Seeker Music has secured a trio of catalog acquisitions. The company has acquired the publishing and recorded music rights to the catalogs of Platinum-certified British singer-songwriter Jay Sean and his longtime collaborator Robert “Bobby Bass” Larow, as well as the publishing rights to Grammy-nominated, multi-Platinum producer and songwriter Cardiak (Carl McCormick).

Jay Sean made history as the first solo artist of South Asian descent to top the Billboard Hot 100 with his 2009 hit “Down” featuring Lil Wayne. His career includes a string of crossover hits such as “Do You Remember” (feat. Sean Paul & Lil Jon) and the viral track “Ride It,” which gained popularity again in 2019 via DJ Regard‘s remix. These tracks, all co-written and produced with Larow, form part of a catalog that continues to resonate across markets in the U.S., U.K., Asia, and beyond. Sean’s pioneering work in Punjabi-pop fusion and collaborations with stars like Mary J. Blige, Pitbull, and Gucci Mane have made him a staple in international music scenes.

Robert “Bobby Bass” Larow, Co-Founder of Orange Factory Music (with Jeremy Skaller), has production and writing credits on songs by pop royalty including Britney Spears, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Shakira, and Usher. His work with Jay Sean has garnered billions of streams and multiple platinum certifications.
Alongside the Jay Sean and Larow acquisitions, Seeker has also secured the publishing catalog of producer Cardiak, whose work spans more than a decade of critically lauded R&B and hip-hop. With production credits on H.E.R.‘s Grammy-nominated “Damage,” J. Cole‘s “Love Yourz,” and tracks by Eminem, Drake, Rihanna, and PARTYNEXTDOOR, Cardiak’s catalog represents a foundational piece of modern hip-hop and R&B. Most recently, he co-produced Coco Jones‘ Grammy-nominated track “Here We Go (Uh Oh)” from her 2025 debut.
Evan Bogart, CEO, Seeker, tells A&R Worldwide, “Seeker only invests in music we genuinely love. Jay Sean’s global hits are more than just songs, they’ve been part of our story, soundtracking our lives for over 15 years. You still hear them everywhere, and they resonate as strongly today. That’s the kind of impact we look for. With Robert Larow’s incredible songwriting catalog and Cardiak’s genre-defining work across hip-hop and R&B, we’re bringing together catalogs that have not only topped charts but continue to shape culture in lasting ways. We’re grateful for the opportunity to celebrate and champion these legacies, ensuring these timeless songs keep reaching new audiences around the world.”

Iconic U.K. alt-pop duo The Ting Tings is currently enjoying a resurgence of their single “That’s Not My Name,” thanks to the licensing of the track in a global Starbucks campaign. Ting Tings originally became a global phenomenon in 2007 thanks in large part to the early support and help from A&R Worldwide and the influential globally syndicated radio program Passport Approved – which world-premiered their debut single “That’s Not My Name” outside of their first few plays on U.K. radio before they were signed to any label or publishing deal.
As a result of A&R Worldwide’s early support, the band garnered its first international exposure on audio and sync platforms, whereas A&R Worldwide’s support landed The Ting Tings their first-ever sync deal with EA Games, and then an introduction to an Apple Music executive Alex Luke who heard the band’s music on Passport Approved (hosted and curated by A&R Worldwide Founder Sat Bisla) led to their song “Shut Up And Let Me Go” appearing on an iPod + iTunes Apple commercial, which was a multi six-figure sync deal.
Thanks to A&R Worldwide and Passport Approved’s support and the syncs generated by both, the band ended up signing with Rob Stringer and Rick Rubin at Columbia Records in the U.S. and went on to have worldwide success.
KINGFISHR
Irish trio Kingfishr are quickly becoming one of the most vital new voices in folk-rock. With the four-times Platinum No.1 single “Killeagh,” two sold-out shows at Dublin’s 3Arena, a sold-out U.S. tour, and over 100 million streams, their rise has been nothing short of remarkable. Now, the band ushers in a new era with their powerful new single “Next To Me”, taken from their debut album Halcyon, out August 22nd via Atlantic Music Group and B-Unique Records (A&R – Atlantic: Jeff Levin, Ian Cripps, U.K.: Craig Shardlow, B-Unique Records: Martin Toher, Mark Lewis). Formed on a farm in Tipperary and shaped by Ireland’s rich storytelling tradition, Kingfishr blends contemporary indie-rock with Celtic soul. Their debut Halcyon plays like a greatest hits: from early favorites “Eyes Don’t Lie” and “Flowers-Fire” to newer standouts “Gloria,” “Man on the Moon,” and “Schooldays.” Following a breakout year on the road, including festival sets and a sold-out tour, the band now sets its sights on a U.K./EU headline tour, closing with a show at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town. With “Next To Me” and previous single “Diamonds & Roses,” Kingfishr offer a stirring preview of the album that will define the next chapter of their story. Listen to “Next To Me” HERE. For all inquiries pertaining to Kingfishr, contact Paige Rosoff at paige.rosoff@atlanticrecords.com.
After a whirlwind year that’s seen him skyrocket from backroom pub gigs to back-to-back sold-out headline shows, Dave Lofts is fast becoming one of Ireland’s most compelling new voices. Now, with the release of a powerful live performance video of his fan-favorite track “Just A Man,” Lofts offers an unfiltered glimpse into the raw emotion that’s driving his meteoric rise. Filmed during one of his recent sold-out shows, the video captures Dave at his most vulnerable and magnetic, just a man with a guitar, a story, and a voice that hits deep. The song, written about his own journey through mental health struggles, is a heartfelt tribute to anyone grappling with anxiety, panic, grief, or depression. It’s no wonder the track regularly moves audiences to tears and has become a show-stopping moment that earns him standing ovations night after night. Over the past 12 months, Dave’s momentum has been undeniable: from supporting Wolf Alice on their Irish tour, to earning stadium support slots in front of 50,000+ this summer, to surpassing 3 million views on TikTok, all without losing an ounce of his authenticity. With comparisons to artists like Hozier, Paolo Nutini, and Teddy Swims, and fans that now include Sam Fender, Dave Lofts is no longer Ireland’s best-kept secret. Experience the moving live performance of “Just A Man” HERE, and contact Edison Waters at edison@collectivemgmt.com for available opportunities with Dave Lofts.

HOPELESS RECORDS AND FAT WRECK CHORDS ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP: Hopeless Records and Fat Wreck Chords have announced a collaboration that brings their legacies together under a shared vision rooted in community and artist-first values. Hopeless will acquire the Fat Wreck Chords catalog, with the spirit of the deal focused less on ownership and more on the preservation of the company’s history. Fat Mike and Erin Burkett, Co-Founders, Fat Wreck Chords, will ensure that the transition reflects the principles that shaped their label. As such, all unrecouped balances for active FAT artists will be wiped clean without obligation. In addition, Fat Wreck Chords will not sign any new artists going forward, a conscious decision meant to focus entirely on its current catalog and artist relationships. Fat Mike and Erin will continue to represent the label’s identity through festivals, events, and limited-edition releases, retaining the Fat Wreck Chords name, logo, and trademark. In 1992, Hopeless Founder Louis Posen, then an aspiring music video director, reached out to Fat Mike and directed the NOFX video for “Bob.” That interaction sparked a friendship and mentorship that helped Posen navigate a new career path as his vision deteriorated. By 1993, Hopeless Records was born, with Fat Wreck’s guidance playing a pivotal role in its foundation. Now, decades later, Fat Wreck’s catalog includes seminal releases from bands like NOFX, Lagwagon, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Propagandhi, Rise Against, Good Riddance, and many others. Hopeless has built a new era of punk and alt-rock with artists like All Time Low, Sum 41, Neck Deep, The Wonder Years, and Scene Queen. To celebrate the collaboration, the two labels are releasing a trio of new and legacy projects: Bad Cop Bad Cop return with Lighten Up, their first album in five years, NOFX unveil A to H, the first volume of a rare and unreleased material series, and Strung Out‘s Exile in Oblivion gets a 20th-anniversary reissue, complete with a new single, “Glass Houses.”
SYMPHONIC DISTRIBUTION PARTNERS WITH THIRD CHAIR: Symphonic Distribution has teamed up with Third Chair (formerly known as Watchdog) in a new partnership designed to enhance IP enforcement and safeguard the music under Symphonic’s sync licensing division, Bodega Sync. The collaboration will see Third Chair’s AI-powered platform deployed to track music usage across social media, helping Bodega Sync’s roster of independent artists and rights holders better protect their work from unauthorized use, especially by brands, and capture overlooked revenue streams. Third Chair, known for its tech-forward approach to intellectual property enforcement, offers a streamlined solution for monitoring brand interactions with music on social platforms, automating licensing discussions, and reclaiming unpaid royalties. The service is especially beneficial for independent companies looking to scale IP oversight without expanding legal headcount. This partnership comes amid heightened legal activity around music use by consumer brands online. Recent high-profile lawsuits, such as those filed by Warner Music Group against Crumbl Cookies and DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse, underscore the importance of vigilant rights management in the current landscape. By combining an expert legal team with advanced machine learning tools, Third Chair empowers music companies to protect their catalogs efficiently and cost-effectively, allowing in-house teams to stay focused on artist development and creative strategy. Through this alliance, Symphonic aims to ensure greater transparency and protection for its artists’ music in the ever-evolving digital ecosystem.

SOUNDCLOUD TEAMS WITH ELASTICSTAGE: SoundCloud is bringing vinyl to independent artists with a new global partnership with U.K.-based tech startup elasticStage, offering its Artist Pro subscribers the ability to create and sell vinyl records, with no upfront costs or minimum order requirements. Artist Pro users can join a waitlist to access the new service, which enables artists to select tracks from their SoundCloud profile, upload artwork, add credits, and publish a customized vinyl release, all without leaving the platform.
