JIEUN KIM ELEVATED TO PRESIDENT OF WARNER MUSIC KOREA

Warner Music Group has named Jieun Kim as President of Warner Music Korea, placing her at the helm of the company’s operations and long-term growth strategy in South Korea, one of the world’s largest recorded music markets. Based in Seoul, Kim will report to Lo-Ting Fai, also known as Lofai, President of Warner Music APAC.

Jieun Kim

Kim steps into the role after serving as CFO of Warner Music Korea for the past three years, where she aided in strengthening the company’s leadership structure and building strategic relationships with local partners. Since joining the company in 2023, she has brought significant expertise from her earlier leadership positions in finance and retail operations at Tiffany & Co.

Her appointment indicates Warner Music’s continued investment in the Korean music industry as the company expands its local presence and artist development efforts. Warner Music Korea has been working across multiple genres to support artists through approaches that prioritize creative independence while also providing access to global audiences and opportunities.

Under Kim’s leadership, Warner Music Korea is expected to deepen its integration with Warner Music Group’s broader APAC infrastructure and international specialist teams, with a focus on elevating Korean artists through cross-cultural collaborations, global partnerships, and innovative worldwide marketing initiatives.

Jieun Kim, President of Warner Music Korea, said, “It is a privilege to lead such a talented and passionate team at a pivotal moment when Korean music continues to redefine the global cultural landscape. Our mission is to significantly scale our presence in this vital market while providing a sophisticated global platform for artists from a variety of genres. I want to thank Lofai for his unwavering support and partnership as we enter this next phase of strategic growth.”

SONY MUSIC EXPANDS JOINT VENTURE PARTNERSHIP WITH LEADING INDEPENDENT GERMAN LABEL TWO SIDES

Sony Music Entertainment Germany, Switzerland & Austria (GSA), and an independent Berlin-based music group Two Sides are deepening their existing joint-venture partnership, building on a relationship that has steadily grown in recent years.

Standing (L-R) are Sandra Caase (CFO & COO, Sony Music, GSA), Daniel Malat (VP, Columbia Label Group, GSA), Lucas Teuchner (Managing Director, Two Sides), Alexia Kafritsas (Head of Artist Management), Sharon Alem (Label Head, Two Sides), and Christoph Behm (CEO, Sony Music, GSA)

In a statement, the companies highlighted Two Sides’ rise as one of the most impactful and forward-thinking creative forces within the German-speaking entertainment market. Two Sides is home to a roster of artists and label partners, including Feder Musik (linked to Apache 207), Achraf (6PM Records), Bipolar (featuring acts like Kane, Badchieff, Sosa La M, YC, and Marli), as well as Reezy, Sira, Bausa, Levin, Miksu/Macloud, Helena, Vinosh, and Jenny Augusta, among others. Apache 207 stands out as one of Germany’s most successful modern artists, having achieved 12 chart-topping singles, two No. 1 albums, and more than five billion streams.

Lucas Teuchner will remain in his role as Managing Director of Two Sides and will also step into an expanded advisory position for Sony Music, focusing on artist development and repertoire strategy across the broader organization. Since 2025, he has worked alongside label head Sharon Alem

Established in 2017, Two Sides has grown from an independent label into a multifaceted creative hub with both domestic and international reach. Its connection with Sony Music dates to its early days through a joint venture with Four Music, and its releases have been distributed by Sony ever since.

Christoph Behm, CEO, Sony Music Entertainment GSA, stated, “Over the past years, Lucas has built Two Sides into one of the most exciting music labels in the German-speaking market, shaping some of the most influential artists – both in recorded music and across the wider creative ecosystem. With this new partnership, we are strengthening our footprint in rap, pop, and hip-hop, expanding our creative services offering, and creating new opportunities for growth.”

Lucas Teuchner added, “From the very beginning, Two Sides has stood for creative freedom and an entrepreneurial mindset. With Sony Music as a strong partner at our side, we can take this DNA to the next level – both nationally and internationally. I am excited to move forward together with the Sony Music team.”

In addition to its label operations, Two Sides will continue to run its artist management division, led by Alexia Kafritsas, who is tasked with further growing both its music and non-music talent portfolio.

PARAMOUNT PICTURES & WARNER MUSIC GROUP ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP FOR THEATRICAL FILMS

Paramount Pictures and Warner Music Group (WMG) have entered into a new multi-year first-look agreement focused on developing theatrical films inspired by the stories and music of Warner Music’s current roster of artists and songwriters.

Robert Kyncl

As part of the collaboration, WMG and its production partner Unigram, led by Amanda Ghost and Gregor Cameron, will work alongside Paramount to create projects in close partnership with the artists, songwriters, and their estates. The initiative aims to bring music-driven stories to the big screen by drawing from the extensive cultural and creative legacy within Warner Music’s catalog. WMG and Unigram are represented by WME

Paramount, now operating under Skydance Corporation, is a global media and entertainment company spanning film, television, streaming, sports, animation, and gaming. Its portfolio includes brands such as CBS, MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, BET, SHOWTIME, Paramount+, and Pluto TV, alongside its film and television studios and the recently launched Paramount Sports Entertainment division.

Warner Music Group, meanwhile, continues to operate across recorded music, publishing, artist services, and independent distribution. Its recorded music division includes labels such as Atlantic Records, Elektra Records, Parlophone, Warner Records, Fueled by Ramen, Roadrunner Records, and 300 Entertainment, among many others. Its publishing arm, Warner Chappell Music, manages a catalog of more than one million copyrights spanning every genre and era of music. WMG also includes ADA, which supports the independent music sector, and its artist services division, WMX.

Robert Kyncl, CEO of Warner Music Group, said, “This collaboration with Paramount unites two forward-looking and innovative companies, and together we are taking a fresh approach to the space. Every artist deserves to tell the stories behind their life and music in their own creative way, and we are excited to partner with our incredible talent and world-class filmmakers to bring these stories to the big screen, growing their audiences around the world.”

Josh Greenstein and Dana Goldberg, Co-Chairs of Paramount Pictures, added, “We’re excited to partner with WMG and their extraordinary artists to create powerful theatrical experiences inspired by generation-defining music and talent.”

BELIEVE UNVEILS AZTEC ITS FIRST U.S. RECORD LABEL JOINT VENTURE

Believe, the Paris-headquartered digital music company, has partnered with music executive Az Cohen to launch a new joint-venture label, AZTEC, based in New York, marking Believe’s first label JV in the United States.

Romain Vivien, Az Cohen, and Denis Ladegaillerie

Announced by Cohen and Romain Vivien, Global Head of Music at Believe, the venture will see Cohen serve as President of AZTEC while operating out of Believe’s New York offices. The launch follows Believe’s recent expansion of its U.S. Label & Artist Solutions division, led by industry veteran Thomas Maxwell.

Cohen brings over a decade of experience in the independent music sector, including leadership roles at 300 Entertainment, where he helped scale the company through its acquisition by Atlantic Records. During his tenure, he also launched Sparta Distribution, which has since generated billions of streams and supported artist development across its catalog. Earlier in his career, Cohen worked with Post Malone during the artist’s breakthrough rise.

AZTEC will operate within Believe’s growing global ecosystem of labels and imprints, joining brands such as France’s Play Two, India’s Think Music, and Brazil’s Ok Music. The joint venture will leverage Believe’s international infrastructure as it continues expanding its footprint in the U.S. market. Initial artist signings for AZTEC have not yet been announced.

Az Cohen said, “In an industry that has become increasingly about quick wins and short-term virality, we are artists, engineers, planners, and warriors with a singular focus: building empires with our artists and partners. AZTEC is about patience, commitment, and shaping careers that stand the test of time.”

WARNER MUSIC JAPAN PARTNERS WITH TOURISM AUTHORITY OF THAILAND

Yuki Chiba has made history as the first Japanese artist to lead a global tourism campaign promoting Thailand, highlighting the increasing international reach and cultural impact of Japanese music. Selected for Thailand’s “Amazing Thailand” campaign, Chiba was chosen for his distinctive artistic style and his ability to authentically represent real-life culture through his work.

Takeshi Okada

Instead of following the polished format of traditional tourism advertising, the campaign centers around the music video for Chiba’s latest single, “Mahiiya,” using music-driven storytelling to connect with younger global audiences. The approach reflects a growing trend toward “vibe-based” travel marketing aimed at Gen Z and Millennials who are drawn to immersive, genuine cultural experiences over heavily curated tourism imagery.

The initiative was created through a collaboration between Warner Music Japan and Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), with the goal of promoting Thailand’s culture and destinations through premium music content. Directed by internationally recognized filmmaker Taichi Kimura, the video for “Mahiiya” was shot in Bangkok in April 2025 and built around Kimura’s concept of “the strength of a relaxed mind,” embracing resilience while maintaining a calm, carefree attitude.

Rather than portraying perfection, the video captures Chiba moving through unexpected moments with an easygoing “Mahiiya” mindset, meaning “It’s okay.” The project reflects Thailand’s atmosphere of openness, adaptability, and optimism, presenting the country through a more spontaneous and emotionally grounded lens.

Takeshi Okada, President & CEO of Warner Music Japan, said, “We are thrilled to bring the local energy and multi-faceted soul of Thailand to the world through Yuki Chiba’s music and this video – something I personally feel every time I visit the country. Yuki’s artistry possesses a rare power to transcend language barriers and move people emotionally, creating genuine connection and resonance across cultures. We will continue to support him as he takes this next leap onto the global stage, proving that authentic expression is the ultimate universal language.”

A&R Worldwide Artist Of The Week

CHLOE PARCHÉ

Chloe Parché leans into her most self-assured era yet with “Silver Bullet,” a bright, hook-heavy single that captures the thrill and chaos of figuring life out in real time. Effortlessly blending sharp pop instincts with a lived-in honesty, the track feels like a snapshot of early adulthood; messy, funny, and quietly transformative. Built on her signature warmth and melodic pull, “Silver Bullet” taps into the idea of searching for quick fixes in moments of uncertainty, only to realize that growth rarely comes that easily. It is a theme that runs deep through her upcoming EP, Sitting Next To Nellie, a project shaped by the emotional highs and lows of her early twenties, where every song feels like a reaction to a different kind of “freak out.” Still just 22, Chloe Parché has already carved out serious momentum. From sold-out headline shows to major festival stages and high-profile supports, she has quickly built a reputation as one of Australia’s most exciting rising voices. Now, she’s gearing up for her Sitting Next To Nellie headline tour, with stops in Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne next month. Backed by her tight-knit band of longtime friends, her music carries a sense of authenticity that’s hard to manufacture, and even harder to ignore. Find “Silver Bullet” HERE and reach out to Charlie Hole for more information and available opportunities worldwide on behalf of Chloe Parché.

JERUB

Rising star JERUB returns with “Stay,” a soul-stirring, deeply human single that finds the Nigeria-born, Nottingham-based artist leaning all the way into vulnerability and coming out stronger for it. Built on warm acoustic guitar and his unmistakable, gospel-tinged voice, the track captures that fragile moment where fear tells you to run… but something deeper asks you to remain. Instead of chasing perfection, “Stay” embraces the beauty of imperfection, choosing to love not because it is easy, but because it is real. There is a quiet power in the way JERUB delivers this message. His voice carries both weight and warmth, giving the song an intimacy that feels almost confessional, while still swelling into something anthemic. It is a reminder that connection is not about fixing each other; it is about showing up, scars and all, and deciding to stay anyway. The release builds on a breakthrough moment. His previous single “Kumbaya” not only topped the Official U.K. Christian & Gospel Chart but crossed genres effortlessly, signaling an artist whose reach extends far beyond any one lane. That same crossover appeal lives in “Stay,” blending soul, pop, and folk influences into something that feels both timeless and immediate. “Stay” has already made an impact of its own, debuting at No. 1 on the U.K. iTunes chart and breaking into the Top 30 on the Capital Big Top 40 during its week of release. With a string of sold-out shows, standout TV appearances, a successful showcase at MUSEXPO in Burbank, CA, and a rapidly growing global audience, JERUB is stepping into 2026 with serious momentum. Experience the visual for “Stay” HERE, and reach out to label contact Kim Revie, or Thando Zulu for artist management, as JERUB is available for global brand, sync, collaborations, and support tour opportunities.

The group now joins a roster that includes artists like SOFI TUKKER, BADBADNOTGOOD, Courtney Barnett, and Kurt Vile. The Quebec-based duo, brothers Khn and Klek de Poitrine, have built a global following after a breakout KEXP session went viral, amassing over 13.5 million views on YouTube. Their unique microtonal, avant-garde sound quickly translated into critical acclaim, millions of streams, sold-out shows, and strong radio support from influential stations including BBC 6, KCRW, and CBC. Their single “Fabienk” surged to the top of Spotify’s Viral Songs Global chart and ranked among the most Shazamed tracks worldwide, while their 2024 debut album Vol. I became a highly sought-after release, even commanding resale prices of up to $600 CAD on vinyl. SM ENTERTAINMENT REPORTS 21% REVENUE GROWTH IN Q1 2026: SM Entertainment (SM) has released its financial results for the first quarter of 2026, highlighting continued growth across its core business areas. For the period ending March 31, the company reported consolidated revenue of 279.1 billion (KRW), marking a 20.6% increase year over year, alongside operating profit of 38.6 billion (KRW), up 18.5% compared to the same quarter in 2025. On a standalone basis, SM posted revenue of 189.3 billion (KRW), representing a 14.4% annual increase. Concert revenue surged by 56.0%, while merchandising and licensing rose by 20.3%, reflecting ongoing expansion of the company’s IP-driven business model. Standalone operating profit reached 38.8 billion (KRW), down 5.9% due to a high comparison base from one-time recorded music revenue in the prior year. Excluding that factor, profits would have grown. Net income on a standalone basis climbed 20.9% to 38.9 billion (KRW). The company’s performance was driven by strong album sales from major artists, expanded global touring, and continued momentum in merchandising and licensing tied to artist IP. Additional contributions came from subsidiaries, including DearU, whose consolidation supported earnings growth, alongside improved results from SM’s broader business network. This reflects SM’s ongoing efforts to diversify its revenue streams, with an increasing share coming from concerts and IP-based activities. During the quarter, global tours from key acts such as SUPER JUNIOR, NCT DREAM, aespa, RIIZE, and NCT WISH helped fuel concert revenue growth.

RAW POWER MANAGEMENT ANNOUNCES NEW LEADERSHIP STRUCTURE: Leading rock management firm Raw Power Management has unveiled a new leadership structure, appointing Matt Ash and Don Jenkins as Joint Chief Executive Officers, while founder Craig Jennings transitions into the role of Executive Chairman. The move is part of a long-term succession plan designed to support the company’s continued global expansion. In their new positions, Ash, based in Los Angeles and with the company since 2008, and London-based Jenkins, who joined in 2012, will take charge of all operational aspects of Raw Power’s worldwide artist management business. Their responsibilities will span strategic direction, artist development, touring, and commercial partnerships as the company further strengthens its international presence. Both executives have been central to Raw Power’s growth. Ash has co-managed Bring Me the Horizon alongside Jennings since 2008, helping steer the band through its Post Human era and into global headliner status, including milestones such as a stadium show in São Paulo and a sold-out performance at Madison Square Garden. He also assisted in launching Raw Power’s U.S. operations and supported the return of At the Drive-In and The Mars Volta. Jenkins, meanwhile, has managed Bullet for My Valentine since 2021, overseeing a successful touring cycle that culminated in their biggest headline show at London’s O2 Arena in 2025. He has also guided Don Broco for more than a decade, including their U.K. No. 1 album Amazing Things, and has worked with The Damned for eight years, helping drive their resurgence with multiple top ten albums and their largest-ever headline show at Wembley Arena earlier this year.

WARNER CHAPPELL NASHVILLE RENEWS GLOBAL DEAL WITH RILEY GREEN: Warner Chappell Music Nashville (WCM) has extended its worldwide publishing agreement with country star Riley Green, continuing a successful partnership. Green recently dominated the 2025 CMA Awards, earning Single, Song, and Music Video of the Year for his collaboration “You Look Like You Love Me” with Ella Langley. His momentum has carried into 2026, where he has picked up multiple nominations, including four at the ACM Awards, marking his first recognition in categories such as Male Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Artist-Songwriter of the Year, as well as his first American Music Award nomination for Favorite Male Country Artist. On the charts, Green continues to build his success with consecutive No. 1 hits, including “Don’t Mind If I Do” with Langley and “Worst Way.” The latter marked his sixth chart-topper and made him the first country artist since Taylor Swift to achieve back-to-back solo-written No. 1 singles on the Country Airplay chart. Over the years, he has also teamed up with artists like Luke Combs, Thomas Rhett, and Carly Pearce. Green is currently on the road for his 2026 Cowboy As It Gets Tour, performing across the United States. Austen Adams, President, WCM Nashville, said, “Riley has a natural gift for storytelling, writing songs that pull on your heartstrings from the very first note. Warner Chappell has been a part of his journey for a while, and we knew we wanted to continue building on this incredible momentum. He is a rare special talent, and our team looks forward to continuing to champion his music on a global scale.”

SONY MUSIC GROUP YEARLY REVENUES TOP $13 BILLION: Sony has released financial results for its music division for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026, reporting strong year-over-year growth across both Recorded Music and Music Publishing. The company’s music segment generated total revenue of 2.1 trillion yen (approximately $13.5 billion USD), representing a 15% increase compared to the previous fiscal year. Sony noted that currency fluctuations had a negative impact of 16.9 billion yen (around $107 million) on overall results. Growth was primarily fueled by stronger streaming revenues in both the Recorded Music and Music Publishing businesses, alongside increased income from live events and merchandise sales within Recorded Music. Physical music sales also posted significant gains, rising 19.2% year over year. Sony Music Publishing recorded revenue growth of 10.5% compared to the prior year. Operating income for the overall music segment climbed 25% year over year to 447 billion yen (approximately $2.85 billion). Sony also stated that, even excluding one-time items, operating income reached an all-time high for the division. On a U.S. dollar basis, streaming revenue growth reached 9% in Sony’s Recorded Music business and 14% in Music Publishing over the full fiscal year. Among the company’s top-performing releases during the period was “Debí Tirar Más Fotos” by Bad Bunny, which emerged as the biggest-selling music project of the year. Other major contributors included releases from SZA, Tate McRae, and Harry Styles. Looking ahead, Sony is forecasting relatively flat growth for its music business in the coming fiscal year. While the company expects continued increases in streaming revenue across both Recorded Music and Music Publishing, it also anticipates declines in live event and merchandising revenue within the Recorded Music segment.

BUCKS MUSIC GROUP SIGNS NIKKI AMBERS: Bucks Music Group has entered into a music publishing administration agreement with songwriter and recording artist Nikki Ambers. Ambers first emerged in the music industry as a member of the trio SoundGirl before launching her solo career at just 16 under the name Little Nikki. Early in her solo journey, she gained recognition through sync placements in Boohoo advertising campaigns featuring her tracks “Little Nikki Says” and “Yoyo.” As a songwriter, Ambers has contributed to releases for artists, including “Towers” from Little Mix’s 2013 album Salute, as well as “Baby Don’t Stop” by NCT U. She also achieved a U.K. Top 10 hit alongside DJ Fresh on “Make U Bounce,” a track she both co-wrote and featured on as Little Nikki. Ambers continued building her profile through collaborations across dance and electronic music, including “Right Before My Eyes” with DJ SKT, the 2019 house track “In My Arms” with Ferreck Dawn and Robosonic, and 2022’s “Higher,” which reunited her with DJ Fresh alongside producer and DJ Used. In addition to her songwriting work, Ambers has also toured as a performer with artists including Justin Bieber, Jaden Smith, Rita Ora, and Rizzle Kicks. Josh Gregg, A&R, Bucks, said, “We’re so excited to be working with Nikki. For publishers, it’s a dream to work with writers who can deliver at this level across such a range of styles. BELIEVE PARTNERS WITH GOOGLE: Believe has entered a new partnership with Google to bring the tech giant’s AI-powered music creation platform, Google Flow Music, to artists across Believe and TuneCore. Announced via a Google blog post from Seth Forsgren, Group Product Manager for Flow Music, the collaboration will give artists, producers, and songwriters access to the tool, previously known as ProducerAI, as a “creative collaborator” designed to support songwriting and production. According to Google, Flow Music can assist with everything from developing lyrics and experimenting with melodies or genres to designing new sounds and instruments, helping artists at any stage of the creative process, from early ideas to final refinements. The company also emphasized that it does not claim ownership of content generated through the platform. As part of the initiative, Believe and TuneCore will select a group of artist and producer “ambassadors” who will meet weekly with Google’s product team to provide feedback and help shape the future development of Flow Music. The platform is powered by Google’s Lyria 3 Pro music generation model, introduced earlier this year. For Believe, the partnership reflects its broader strategy around generative AI, positioning it as part of a dual approach to how emerging technologies can be integrated into the modern music creation and distribution ecosystem.
